The Tourist Visa (subclass 676) has been replaced by the Visitor Visa (subclass 600), which allows you to stay in Australia for three, six, or twelve months. Applicants must select one of the four streams listed below based on why they want to come.

Visitor Visa- Subclass 600
The subclass 600 tourist stream visa is intended for those who want to go to Australia for leisure, take a cruise, or visit relatives and friends. The visa issuance letter specifies the duration of stay, which is transitory in nature.

The status of the visa might be either "single" or "multiple entry." You are allowed to leave Australia and return for as long as the visa is valid if you have "multiple entry."
With this visa, you are not permitted to work but may study or train for a maximum of three months. This visa can be obtained both inside and outside of Australia.
If Applying for a tourist visa outside of Australia:
At the time of your visa application, you must be outside of Australia. In addition, you have to be outside of Australia at the time of the visa determination.Qualification standards You have to be a legitimate tourist who plans to spend a short time in Australia. You need to be able to sustain yourself financially during your time in Australia. The conditions for your health must be met. The prerequisites for character must be met by you. With this visa, you are not allowed to work in Australia. The Visa Application Charge for this visa is $190, and the processing time is determined on the applicant's ultimate age.
